Lesson 11: Reflexive Verbs

In Lesson 9 I have explained you how to conjugate reflexive verbs. Today there will be more examples and more verbs to remember. 

Unfortunately, there is no logic rule clarifying which verbs are reflexive (if it is please let me know!) so I guess the only way is to use them in practice and memorize. I hope that this blog will help you to distinguish them and use in everyday life.



Eksempler:

JEG
Jeg koser meg etter jobb = I have a nice time after job

Jeg spiser meg mett om morgenen. = I get full eating in the morning

Jeg må konsentrere meg om å lære norsk. = I must concentrate to learn norwegian. 


DU
Du kjeder deg på foreldremøte = You get bored at parent meeting

Du bør raskt bestemmer deg = You should quickly decide.

Du slanker deg mye, hvordan gjør du det? = To lose weight a lot, how do you do it?


HUN/HAN
Hun gleder seg til å treffe familien i Polen. = She is looking forward to meet family in Poland.

Hun må skynde seg å ta den siste bussen = She must hurry to catch the last bus

Han gruer seg til å gå på jobb på mandag. = He is not looking forward to go to work on Monday

Han gruer seg til å gå til tannlegen = He is dread going to the dentist


VI
Vi må skynde oss å bli ferdig med middagen. = We must hurry to finish dinner

Vi skal snart gifte oss. ;) = We soon getting married ;)

Vi lover oss selv at vi ikke vil krangle = We promise ourselves that we will not argue

but:
Vi lover (not use oss here!!!at vi ikke vil krangle – We promise that we will not argue


DERE
Dere vil skade dere hvis dere ikke lytter til det jeg sier. - You will injure yourself if you do not listen to what I say.

Dere burde skamme dere over oppførselen deres! – You should be ashamed of your behaviour

Hva kan dere gjøre for å holde dere varme? = What can you do to keep yourselves warm

Jeg synes at dere bør holde dere hjemme for å holde dere varme. - I think that you should stay at home to keep yourselves warm.


DE
Morer de seg i helgen? = Are they having fun this weekend?

De trenger å oppføre seg pent på skolen. = They need to behave nicely at school.

De klipper seg i den nye frisørsalongen på hjørnet. = They get a haircut in new hair salon at the corner
