- Double consonant at the end of the adjective = single instead of double consonant in neuter
ei grønn bok = a green book
*et grønt hus = a green house (instead of grønnt)
grønne gensere = green sweaters
- Adjective ends in “er”, “el” or “en” = we remove ‘e’ & double consonant (if applicable) in plural form.

- Adjective ends in “ig” or “sk” = neuter stays the same as masculine/feminine (i.e. do not add "t" at the end)

*et hyggelig brev (no “t”) = a nice letter (instead of hyggeligt)

*et koselig hus (no “t”) = a cosy house (instead of koseligt)

Exception: et ferskt brød (fresh bread); et friskt eple (fresh apple)
- Adjective: “NY” = we add “tt” in neuter
*et nytt hus = a new house (instead of nyt)
nye gardiner = new curtains (sounds like a garden which would be: en ny hage)
- Adjective: “BLÅ” = we add “tt” in neuter and remove "e" from plural
en blå bil = a blue car
ei blå kåpe = a blue coat
*et blått hus = a blue house (instead of blåt)

- Adjective ends in “nde” = stays the same
en spennende følelse = an exciting feeling, emotion

- Adjective ends in “t” preceded by consonant = do not receive “t” in neuter
Et svart skjerf = a black scarf (instead of svartt)
Et flott skap = a great cupboard (instead of flott)
